Scierie Zahnd SA in Rueyeres (CH), a huge construction wood producer, was willing to enhance the capabilities of one of their combined automatic sawing/milling machines. A pre-study confirmed the possibility of integrating an additional powered arbor within the available space. The Countdown Company in partnership with ST Solutions took the complete design and execution package. From mechanical design to commissioning at customer site, the project was executed as a turn key solution. The Countdown Company took care of the CAD design, analysis, manufacturing drawings, manufacturing follow up, assembly and mechanical testing. ST Solutions took care of the schematics, electrification, automation, testing and site commissioning. Broach power is 7.5kw with an operating speed around 6’000rpm, feed is over 100m/min. The system also includes Y and Z adjustments as well as sawdust evacuation.
